Two Must-Read Books on Education Reform

Two recently released books on the K-12 education enterprise are must reading for anyone interested in school improvement and education reform.

The books — Class Warfare, by Steven Brill, and Special Interests, by Terry M. Moe — together, provide a nice perspective of the difficulties school reformers face as they try to wring out more results and increased student learning in a monopolistic and bureaucratic (and politicized) environment.

Former New York City Schools Chancellor Joel Klein recently reviewed the two books in the Wall Street Journal.  His review can be found here.
